Moonlight Visions

Elegant legs carry them down
upon the hidden path
trees swaying within the wind,
The creatures have grown
into true majestic beast.
They dodge among the trees
with perfect harmony.
Racing the wind,
as joy fills  their fierce hearts.
Responding to the forest's challenge
paws pounding upon the carpet floor.
Touching the hidden path
but a brieft moment in time
muscles flowing as greatful as a cat.
Ears pinned against their head,
the old willow creeps into their path
to the mountain springs.
The moon rising to the highest pont
playing hide and seek among the willow's leaves.
Providing shelter to a hungry night,
rays of light reflect within black pelts
As they turned into the wind
heading towards the sounds of water.
As one they leap a fallen oak
soft thuds lost in the forest's noise.
Stopping at the mudy bank of a stream.
Golden eyes drop her jaws to the stream
as green eyes sets up guard
before lowing one head lowers
to lap gently.
Both egar to satsfy their thirst,
yet they go one at  a time.
A human cub watches eagarly
glad to see the pair.
A branch snaps under foot,
twin's head shoot up.
Golden eyes meeting blue eyes
as though searching her soul seeminly.
A creature crawls across her hand,
startling the human cub,
from her private fasination.
Searching for the offending bug,
thinks to look  up once again
to find them gone was it a simple dream?
Then twin howls rose upon the night winds,
singing her a lullabye.
